ELEMENTARY

¿What makes us different?

MCS ELEMENTARY is a place designed especially for children to enjoy while acquiring knowledge, perfecting skills and developing Christian attitudes and values that allow them to achieve the competencies that prepare them to face the 21st century.

We have highly qualified personnel who facilitate learning experiences that lead students to reach our exit profile.

Beyond Our Academic Excellence
We provide a comprehensive education.

Cristhian living:

Our main differentiator is the transversality of principles and values from the Bible that we understand as the Word of God.

We begin each day with a devotional time in which current issues are reviewed in light of the Bible and we seek to develop skills and attitudes that lead to honoring God, loving themselves, and serving others.

In all classes and activities, biblical principles are present; we strive to make them a practice in the midst of everyday life.

Neuroactivation®:

Every morning, students participate in the Neuroactivation® program, a space for social, physical and cognitive enrichment, which seeks to improve neurological connections through scheduled physical exercise, promoting learning processes and health in an integral way.

Neuroscience proclaims that acquiring the habit of exercise improves performance in the classroom by enhancing learning and memory capabilities and optimizing the ability to respond to daily stress. In addition, it states that a student who exercises will be more motivated and will experience a greater sense of well-being, which will make it easier for them to carry out their activities in the classroom.

The name of the program “Neuroactivation®” is a registered trademark of Monterrey. This program is run by an interdisciplinary team made up of teachers of different subjects.

General Information

Small Groups:

We work in small groups, which allows us to give more personalized attention to each student, generate stronger connections between group members, have more control over the details, and provide a pleasant and safe environment for each of our students.

Active methodologies learning:

Instruction involves active methodologies such as project- and problem-based learning and cooperative learning. This type of constructivist instruction allows children to develop skills such as problem solving, planning, assertive communication, and teamwork.

Entry ages:

The ages that children must be by February 15 of the year that begins, by unquestionable stipulation of the MEP (although our school year starts earlier) are:

First grade: 6 years old

Second grade: 7 years old

Fourth grade: 9 years old

Intraclubs

Schedule:

Monday to Thursday:  From 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Friday:  From 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

We count with staff from 6:30 a.m. to receive the children of parents who require it because of their work schedule.

Intraclubs:

Intraclubs are held throughout the Elementary school year during the school day. At the beginning of the school year, students attend a large exhibition where the general offerings of approximately 25 clubs are presented. From this point, they can choose which one they will attend once a week, depending on their tastes and abilities. Some are semester-long and others are annual, depending on the objective of the club. There is no charge for the club; only the materials or a fee for the specific materials used are requested. *

Inclusion:

Inclusion is without a doubt an aspect that sets us apart. Elementary addresses all educational supports: significant, non-significant, and access. For us, being inclusive is an opportunity for growth and a blessing for all.

Students with disabilities are served according to their needs, which implies a program parallel to that of the rest of the students.

Students’ admission to the program is defined through an admission process that consists of visits to the institution of origin (if necessary), a visit by the student to our institution, interviews with families and sometimes home visits. All with the aim of establishing the necessary support for the student in coordination with the family.

Arrows Sports Academy:

After school, a range of other sports disciplines are offered for students to enjoy and develop their skills. For example: basketball, soccer, volleyball, athletics, color guard among others.

Arrows MUSIC Program:

The Music program, which is taught during the school day from first to eight grade, allows students to learn to play an instrument. In the afternoons, students who wish to do so can come to the Music Time to further enhance their skills. In addition, selected students participate in special times as part of the Concert Band.

After School Program:

Este es un servicio para las familias que requieren atención a sus hijos luego del período  escolar. El programa inicia después de terminar la jornada regular, de 3:00 p.m. a 5:30 p.m.

Transportation:

MCS does not offer transportation services directly, but we do have a group of transporters that we can recommend, since they have the necessary requirements and permits for the transportation of students (granted by the MOPT), which they presented to the institution as evidence that guarantees transportation units in good condition and the proper handling of children.

Gatherings, camps and educational tours:

Get-togethers are held from first to fifth grade and a camp is held in sixth grade. Some groups go on individual educational tours depending on the topics being studied.
