The Power of Experiential Learning: Our Preparatory Students’ Educational Journey
Our preparatory students enjoyed their visit to the community surrounding our institution. This is a beloved tradition for students at this level. During this time, they’ve been learning in the classroom about community helpers and how everyone’s contribution is important to society. We believe that education extends far beyond the four walls of a classroom. It is a living, breathing experience that should captivate our students’ hearts and minds. This belief was beautifully illustrated during our preparatory students’ recent community visit, a wonderful educational adventure that brought learning to life.
Our young explorers had the opportunity to meet with various community helpers, from the friendly baker at the local “panadería”, a gardener and a Greengrocer. This experience also opened up conversations about service and purpose. We discussed how each person has God-given talents and how they can use them to serve others. This aligns with our goal to raise a generation of compassionate leaders who understand the importance of contributing to the greater good. As it is written in 1 Peter 4:10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
